Courier privacy notice
This notice is for couriers who use the Delo Driver app. It explains what we collect, why, who sees it and how long we keep it. Customers of Delo have their own privacy policy.
1. Who is responsible
Eclyde Corporation Limited (CRO 810069), Dublin, Ireland, runs Delo and Delo Driver and is the controller of your personal data. Contact us about privacy at rider@delo.ie.
2. What we collect and why
| Data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, phone number, email | Your account, sign-in by email code, and contact about deliveries | Contract |

| PPS number | Reporting payments to Revenue where the law requires it | Legal obligation |

| Deliveries, earnings, tips and payouts | Paying you, your earnings statements, and our accounts | Contract, legal obligation |
| Ratings and feedback about deliveries | Keeping the service good for everyone | Legitimate interest |

Identity check and bank account: your photo ID and the live selfie for the identity check go straight to our payment provider Stripe, and Delo never sees them. The IBAN you enter passes through our server to Stripe so it can pay you, and we keep only the last four digits. We see the result of the identity check, not the documents.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics tools.
3. Your location
- We collect your location only while you are online, including with the phone locked during a shift. It stops the moment you go offline. The app never asks for "Always" access.
- While you carry an order, that order's customer can see your approximate position (rounded to about 11 metres) on their order page, from collection until delivery. The app shows you who can see you the whole time. When the order is delivered, they can no longer see it.
- We keep your latest position while you are online, not a trail of your movements. Each delivery record keeps where it was collected and delivered.
4. Who sees your data
- The customer of an order you carry: your first name, your vehicle type, your approximate position until delivery, and the delivery photo where it is needed to show the order arrived.
- The shop you collect from: your first name and when you are arriving. If you are a shop's own driver, that shop also sees the deliveries you do for it.
- Stripe, our payment provider, which runs the identity check and pays you. Stripe is responsible for the data it collects for those checks under its own privacy policy.
- Service providers who run parts of the app on our instructions: Supabase (database and hosting, EU), Cloudflare (website hosting), Google (maps and address lookup), OpenFreeMap (map tiles in the iPhone app, which receives your device's internet address but not your account), Resend (the email that carries your sign-in code), Twilio (connecting calls between you and a customer or shop without either side seeing the other's number), Apple and Google (notifications).
- Revenue and other authorities, where the law requires it.
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
5. Automated decisions
The app decides automatically which couriers see an offer, based on distance, who is online and free, and vehicle. Declining never affects future offers. Decisions to suspend or close an account are always made by a person.
6. How long we keep it
- Account details: while your account is open.
- Payment, earnings and tax records: 6 years, as Irish tax law requires.
- Delivery photos: 12 months, or longer while a question or dispute about that delivery is open. Delivery records themselves are payment records and follow the 6 year rule above.
- Incident reports: up to 6 years, in case of a legal claim.
- Live location: only your latest position, replaced as you move. Customers stop seeing it when their order is delivered.
When you delete your account, we remove your details and your sign-in, and keep only the records the law requires, for as long as it requires them.
7. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, object to how we use it, or restrict it. Delete your account at any time in the app under Account, Delete account, or email rider@delo.ie. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
8. Deleting your Delo Driver account
You can delete your account and its data at any time, with or without the app.
- In the app: open Account, tap Delete account, then Delete my account. It happens straight away.
- Without the app: email rider@delo.ie from the email on your account, or with the phone number you sign in with, and ask us to delete your Delo Driver account. We confirm by email or text and delete it within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Deletion removes your courier account, your contact details, vehicle, location and sign-in. Anything you have already earned is still paid. We keep payment, earnings and tax records for 6 years, as Irish tax law requires, and any incident report linked to a possible legal claim, as set out above.
9. Security
All data is encrypted in transit. Access is limited to the people at Delo who need it for their work, and payments and identity checks are handled by Stripe.
10. Changes
We will tell you in the app about any important change to this notice before it takes effect.
